Study Title: Diagnostic and Therapeutic Development for Infectious Diseases
(IRB# 009-015)

Short Title: Blood Draw Study

Study Description: This study is for individuals who have been diagnosed as having an infectious disease or have recently recovered from an infectious disease, hepatitis c. This research is being done to find out how the immune system is responding to the infection. This research may lead to effective treatment for people with this condition in the future or help us to develop a vaccine to prevent other people from getting this disease. This study does not involve medication.

Some of the criteria for patients to qualify for the study include:

  • 18-70 years of age
  • Diagnosed with Hepatitis C

The following are some of the criteria which will exclude patients from the study:

  • Known diagnosis of HIV, hep B or other acute or chronic infectious disease
  • Subjects with a history of malignancies
  • Autoimmune diseases
  • Subjects who would in the opinion of the physician be unable to undergo aphaeresis
  • A history of transplant
